Our Successes

Curragh North Overland Conveyor Project

The success of such projects as the Curragh North Overland Conveyor Project has ensured Reslec Australia is quickly establishing itself as the contractor of choice within the industry.

In August 2006 Reslec Australia were engaged by Barclay Mowlem to supply a team of skilled Electricians and Supervisors for the construction of the Curragh North Overland Conveyor Project, the world’s longest single flight conveyor.

The project formed part of an overall $300 Million construction and upgrade to the mines’ infrastructure which recently took out the title of “Bulk Handling Facility of The Year”.

The North Curragh conveyor has been praised as a major improvement on conventional conveyor technology and for its ability to deliver significant savings in both the capital and operating costs of the mine.

Today, the conveyor delivers over 2,000 tonnes of coal per hour from the ROM (dump point) to the final destination (the Bin).  At its peak performance the Conveyor consumes 4,250,000 + watts of electricity per hour.

Sitting at a stunning 20.02 Km in length, the Conveyor, commissioned in March/April 2007 and completed in July, currently still holds the world record for the world’s largest single flight conveyor. Reslec Australia is proud to have been associated with this project and is confident we have the ability and expertise to tackle any future projects of this scope and size.
